Themes, Colors, and Appearance

HelpdeskHero gives you full control over how your public helpdesk looks. All appearance settings are found on the Branding page in your dashboard.

Theme

Choose between Light and Dark mode for your public helpdesk pages. This affects the overall background, text colors, and surface styling across your entire help center.

Primary Color

Your primary color is used for buttons, links, and interactive elements throughout your helpdesk. Click the color swatch to open the color picker, or enter a hex code directly.

Accent Gradient

The accent gradient adds visual flair to your helpdesk header and certain UI elements. You set two colors:

  • From — The starting color of the gradient
  • To — The ending color of the gradient

The gradient flows between these two colors and is used in the header background, enhanced article styling, and optionally in the widget header.

Background, Text, and Surface Colors

For more granular control, you can customize:

  • Background Color — The main page background
  • Text Color — The primary text color used for body content
  • Surface Color — The color of cards, panels, and elevated surfaces

Button Border Radius

Control how rounded buttons appear across your helpdesk using the border radius slider. Lower values give sharp, square corners; higher values create pill-shaped buttons.

Hero Title and Subtitle

The hero section is the large banner at the top of your helpdesk home page. You can customize:

  • Hero Title — The main heading visitors see (e.g., "How can we help?")
  • Hero Subtitle — A secondary line of text below the title (e.g., "Search our knowledge base for answers")

Override the default text used in your helpdesk navigation. You can customize the labels for:

  • Articles — The label for the articles section (default: "Articles")
  • Categories — The label for the categories section (default: "Categories")
  • Back — The back navigation label (default: "Back")

This is useful for localization or if you prefer different terminology (e.g., "Guides" instead of "Articles").

Logo and Favicon

Upload a company logo to replace the text name in your helpdesk header. You can upload an image file or provide a URL. For custom domains, you can also upload a favicon that appears in the browser tab.
